Carlinhos Cruz is a Brazilian musician living in Dublin. His music is beautifully composed with lyrics filled with poetry. He grew up surrounded by music, with his father at the centre of it. As a result of that, he began to perform at the age of 10. On his early years, he was really inspired by great Brazilian musicians such as Caetano Veloso, Djavan, Gilberto Gil, Chico Buarque and later on by the Los Hermanos; Rodrigo Amarante really influenced him because of “his songwriting and his ability to bring such poetry to simple ideas” said Carlinhos.

Carlinhos play at different concerts in Europe and once a year he goes back to Brazil to play. When asked about the events he plays at he said: “I love playing at world music events because they’re so diverse and it’s fascinating to see how music transcends cultural boundaries and breaks down borders”.

Carlinhos will be playing at Dublinternational on the 15th of September in Smithfield Square!
